Northern British Columbia lies above a jagged line drawn westward from Tete Jaune Cache (on the British Columbia-Alberta border). It goes through McBride, south of Prince George, and crosses west over North Tweedsmuir Provincial Park, Banks Island on the east side of Hecate Strait and eventually to the Queen Charlotte Islands. The region even encompasses the territory north of the British Columbia-Yukon border.
